Residents of Cittanova, in the province of Reggio di Calabria, Italy, were shaken by two earthquakes in quick succession on Friday afternoon. The first quake, with a magnitude of 3.5, struck at a depth of 22 kilometers, while the second, measuring 2.0, followed shortly after at a depth of 16 kilometers. A larger earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.8, was also recorded offshore along the northwestern coast of Calabria at 4:41 a.m. local time. There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
