Tamayo Perry, a 49-year-old surfer, lifeguard, and actor known for his role in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, has tragically died after being attacked by a shark while surfing off the coast of Hawaii.
According to reports, Perry was surfing near Kaimana Beach when he was attacked by the animal. Despite the heroic efforts of lifeguards and fellow surfers, who rushed to his aid, he succumbed to his injuries.
Perry was a well-known and respected figure in the Hawaiian surfing community, having spent more than two decades as a lifeguard at Honolulu Ocean Safety.
Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi paid tribute to Perry, calling him "a beloved member of our community" and a "true waterman."
Perry's death has shocked and saddened the surfing world. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
